| Irfan Alam to offer litti, chokha to Obama
|
Patna, Feb 8 /--/ Irfan Alam, invited by the US President to attend the Presidential Summit in Washington in April, will gift Barak Obama Bihar's famous delicacy litti and chokha.
Mr Alam, who heads the SammaaN Foundation, which works for the social and economic emancipation of the rickshaw pullers across the country, communicated this to US envoy Timothy J Roemer when he visited it along with his wife Sally on Friday.
'I will be carrying with me a container full of littis which I will offer to the U S President when I meet him during the summit,' Mr Alam, a graduate of the prestigious IIM, Ahmedabad, told PTI over phone from Begusarai. He is confident that his gift will pass the stringent security test as 'I have made my desire very clear to the US envoy when he asked me what I would like to gift the US President.' The activist said he would also present a replica of a rickshaw to Mr Obama. (PTI)
